Sound meditation, sound healing, and sound baths are all related, but they each offer a different experience.
A sound bath immerses you in sound, often offering a passive experience where you simply lie down and allow the sound vibrations to wash over you.
Sound healing often implies a passive experience, where a practitioner uses sound tools to promote healing. But this raises an important question: where does the healing truly come from—the practitioner, the sound itself, or the participant’s openness to receive? Emphasizing “healing” can suggest a one-way flow from practitioner to participant, when in reality, it may be more of a collaborative unfolding.
Sound meditation invites you to actively engage with the sound. Here, sound, frequency, and vibration become tools that help you access a meditative state-one where transformation, harmony, and deep personal insight can unfold. Inspired by the thought leadership of Alexandre Tannous, this approach encourages conscious participation, where the sound and frequency immersion is a tool to help facilitate a deep state of awareness and focus.

There are five primary brainwave states, each linked to different mental and emotional experiences:
Delta Waves (0.5 - 4 Hz): Deep sleep, physical healing, and cellular regeneration.
Theta Waves (4 - 8 Hz): Meditation, intuition, creativity, and deep relaxation.
Alpha Waves (8 - 14 Hz): Calmness, creative flow, and present-moment awareness.
Beta Waves (14 - 30 Hz): Focus, alertness, and problem-solving.
Gamma Waves (30 - 100 Hz): Peak cognition, heightened perception, and creative breakthroughs.

Different sound frequencies-delivered through singing bowls, tuning forks, isochronic tones, and binaural beats-can gently guide your brain into beneficial states:
Delta & Theta Waves: Low-frequency sounds, such as deep drumming or Tibetan bowls, promote deep rest and inner reflection.
Alpha Waves: Nature sounds and soft instrumental music help foster creativity and calm.
Beta Waves: Rhythmic, structured soundscapes enhance focus and mental clarity.
Gamma Waves: High-frequency tones stimulate cognitive function, insight, and inspiration.

Absolutely! We believe in the power of personal practice at home and in the future will provide thoughtfully designed content to support you in creating meaningful moments on your own. That said, we also value the irreplaceable magic that happens when we gather in-person.
There’s something undeniable about being physically present with others—feeling the collective energy, sensing the subtle shifts in the room, and experiencing the natural amplification that happens when human beings share intention and presence together. It’s the difference between hearing music through headphones and being at a live concert where you can feel the sound waves moving through your body.
Both experiences have value—your at-home practice will help you stay connected to yourself day-to-day, while the live gatherings offer a chance to immerse yourself in something larger than any one of us. Together, they form a complete and beautiful cycle: personal reflection and communal amplification.
Sound frequency meditation is most powerful when experienced live and in-person. The frequencies produced create rich overtones that resonate infinitely, extending beyond what any recording can capture. Digital equipment and streaming platforms can only deliver a snapshot of the sound—an approximation. To fully immerse yourself in the depth and resonance of these frequencies, nothing compares to experiencing them live.

Wear comfy close, much like what you would wear to a yoga class. Bring a mat, some water, and additional layers if you get cold or want to feel cozy.
Some participants also like to bring a journal to write intentions or reflections.

The name Harmony Strides reflects Mike’s deep passion for music and his belief that harmony lives within each of us. It also honors his lifelong love of movement — especially running. A stride represents forward motion, growth, and an open-hearted approach to life. Together, Harmony Strides captures the idea of moving through life, one step at a time, toward greater harmony — within ourselves, with each other, and with the world around us.
